After growing up and driving German cars since age 16, BMWs and MBZs, I finally crossed the line and went BRITISH and ITALIAN with the Bentley SUPERSPORTS and Lamborghini LP550-2 Balboni edition in 2010.

When? Let's just say mid 30's. :o

I'm not jealous of those who's parents bought them a huge house or a lambo(w/e it may be), heck I'd love to be that parent some day. There is a huge difference between coming from a wealthy family or not. Not all wealthy families just give it out, but per say even if you were given financial backing, it would be a lot easier to become successful but still very easy to screw it up as well. however there are some who have done it or are doing it, with none of the above.

As for the Lambo, I would love to own one this year (25th bday), Hmm maybe even my (30th bday) however it would totally sink me personally and my business. I could go buy a gt3 or a r8 right now, but again it would drag my business and personal down more than I could stumach. I want to buy a lambo when I can do it as easy as going out and buying a dirt bike, snow mobile or four wheeler.

Props to those who own and drive one, I'm sure it's a helleva experience.

It doesnt have to be it just went there. We could discuss legit age demographics of ownership and why Lamboghinis appeal to a specific crowd, instead its I know a kid who got one when he was 15 and heres the 5 awesome cars I had before that. I'll watch for you on the cover of Heavy Hitters Junior Varsity Edition soon. To me that is neither interesting or impressive because I know he didnt mow the shit out of some lawns and deliver 12,000,000 newspapers on his BMX bike to get it.

Actually that's his parents Gallardo and it's sitting in front of their house next to their cars. Unless your friend's W-2 states that he made 6 figures+ last year.

Same with 99% of the rest of the guys, friends, cousins, etc. who are under the age of 30 and on here saying "I got my first Lamborghini at age ____".

I actually laugh at people who take gifts like that from their mommy and daddy and then come on boards acting like they are ballers.

Less respect for them than the guy driving the Honda CRX who paid for it with his last dollar from his $8/hr job. That was me 15 years ago.

Well, it is true...I am sure there are those of us out there who were born into wealthy families and parents who shower their kids with nice extravagant cars (watches, jewellry, clothes, and a whole lot more).

But there are also those who work very hard and make it on their own.

The people featured on HEAVY HITTERS for example all made it big by working VERY HARD. Now, they can enjoy the fruits of their labor.

As for myself, I went to college, medical school and completed an INTERNAL MEDICINE residency. Basically schooling until 29 years of age.
COLLEGE 4 years (18-22) - national Dean's List
MED SCHOOL (22-26) - exams after exams...
RESIDENCY (26-29) - many ON CALL nights without sleep (36+ hours).

Now, I am a BOARD CERTIFIED INTERNIST!

Having been in both clubs now, that statement couldn't be more true.

Ferrari club member (FCA -of course I am stereotyping big time!) is usually around 40-60 years old (usually caucasian) president or CEO, doctor/attorney and likes wine with a New York Strip or filet.

Lamborghini Club member (LCA) is anywhere from 25-50 and is either a trust fund kid, small business (plumbing, electric, construction) owner, musician, pro athlete, in software, sales, ex navy/air force pilot, etc.

While I have picked up more way more investment tips from the Ferrari guys, I have had a more interesting time watching/hearing the cast of characters at the Lamborghini events.

Career military pilots make a decent living while serving. Then they retire early in life after putting in their time and usually go work as a pilot for one of the commercial airlines.

By this time they are making a commercial pilot's wage (a good living) while also drawing on their military pension and collecting retired veteran's health benefits.

They do well.

different from Ferrari owners? I too owned a lamborghini however bringing up the age of those who own or have owned lambos is bound to bring in more controversy than anything else. Look at the same thread in the Ferrari section. It could have been WAY worse of course, but the same is the same there are always people who will get jealous and there are always people who will basically rip on those who are younger, so whats the need for generating an ignition source for something that can spark into an uncontrollable forest fire.

To some indeed, jealousy does spark a fire resulting in negative comments. However, if a thread like this one sparks a positive fire in just one member, and makes him work hard and buy the car of his dreams, whatever it may be, it's all worth it...

I'm jealous of your car collection too, but in a positive way :) I admire you for being the stand up guy you are, in the face of so much envy.

There will ALWAYS be people that don't approve of your choices in life, just out of envy, but they don't have the whole picture. I work hard, had to give up a lot of things in life to get where I am today, so quite frankly I don't even spend a second thinking about those that spend their life whining about the wealth of others...

As someone wrote here somewhere on the 4: Entrepreneurship is spending a few years of your life like most people wouldn't, to live the rest of it like most people can't.

Congrads to all you Fckers! Im still working on it but there is just a couple things I want more. I am patient and will get one if the world doesn't end after 2012. I want to ship my newly acquired P boat over seas and do some tweaks to it possibly a new paint job. Then I am going to focus on a G. Again props to everyone spoiled or not. had my first lambo when i was 24...huge mistake as I should have invested that money instead. sold it..and invested what I got out of it.

I got a 92 accord for graduation present, and I mashed that car everywhere! My buddy owns it now as he turned it into a full show car.

Bought my first gallardo cash at 28yrs. Title under my name.

Bank owns the 560 but I drive it lol. Paying it off this year so it's all good.

Haha lmao @ the 92 accord.. we had so many memories in that slow car we thought was fast!

Props to all those who actually worked hard to buy/own their Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Etc.. I bet there's no greater feeling than knowing YOU earned that car through time and hard work.

Oh yeah...My goal is to own one by at least 30.. So I got 7 years to step my game up! *hurry up promotion*

different from Ferrari owners? I too owned a lamborghini however bringing up the age of those who own or have owned lambos is bound to bring in more controversy than anything else. Look at the same thread in the Ferrari section. It could have been WAY worse of course, but the same is the same there are always people who will get jealous and there are always people who will basically rip on those who are younger, so whats the need for generating an ignition source for something that can spark into an uncontrollable forest fire.

True because you would NEVER do that would you? Sort of like posting on this forum about how much the Aventador is not innovative and that lambo produced garbage with everything after the Diablo....oh and that you sold your 08 SL for $115k but not to your friends???

I think this is cheating but 30 while running a dealership with a good size floorplan that I was doing all the purchasing for. It was a steal and I knew it so bought it, took some convincing to the owner but after it sold there were no more questions and funny enough we got into the exotic business. We bought alot more after we made what we did off that car, but you know I was daily driving that car. Everything I have driven over the last 12 years has been for resale in one way or another and its the reason I love what I do!

I would have to guess 90% of Lambo owners who bought one around age 25 or before are entrepreneur's and didn't do the whole university/school thing... don't really see anyone landing a "job" right out of school well enough to own one. I haven't met anyone yet who couldn't do without a little extra capital. I've lived out in Dubai for a number of years and out here we don't even have a credit rating system. However, that has made me become less reliant on credit since it doesn't even exist for us out here. We rely more on cash than anything else. Either you have money or you don't. When you do have it, the banks are the ones chasing you to take their credit cards and loans. I usually just hang up.

I think back in the US people are more likely to go in debt quicker because they can never live within their means because of the whole credit system.

you are looking at credit as something negative...
The positives of it is that it helps you grow your business a lot faster than the "ol piggybank" method.

There is no credit rating per say in dubland but there are loans....I know..I do a lot of business with customers in dubland...
from a banks standpoint: I would rather have a credit rating to use as a unit of measurement (like here) than not have it and still give out loans (like there).

I do disagree about being chased by banks when you are wealthy...banks chase the ones who cannot afford just as much...look a few years back and look at the subprime credit.

BTW...do you own a murc or a gallardo?

How i have fun in my cars, a lambo couldn't do.... plus i don't like attention on me for materistic reasons. As far as credit, I just use it for gas and food.

Woopsie....looks like I just stirred a hornets' nest. Sorry, the reason I suggested the cash thing is because a credit system (or exotic car leasing system) doesn't exist where I come from and with exotics costing 2-3x more than what you would pay in the US (a used 05 murci is over $500k here!), you got to be a really made and successful guy to be owning one. That's all. Sorry if I turned this thread into an off-topic debate. Carry on, I don't even own a Lambo. And I am not jealous either. Much apologies...

This thread started out cool....ended up pretty annoying.

Props to anyone who owns a lamb. If your parents bought it i hope you respect it. my parents were kind enough to buy me a 2000 328ci 5 speed and i fucking love it. its like a little go cart and when i see kids around town driving porsches and mbzs I'm not jealous i feel like my car is just as cool even though its not worth the dollars.

I worked hard and put money into it and it looks and drives badass...maybe not lambo badass but to me its the best car i will ever own and i hope i get a million miles out of it. and i fvcking love the shit out of my parents for doing that for me because now i have invested money I've made (that i would've bought a car with) and have been working hard and truly believe i will own a exotic of semi exotic before the age of 30. A porsche turbo would be a dream, or an R8. But if i do have the money and i don't have other things i need to spend it on (god save me from wives, kids, divorce) then maybe ill buy a lamb or an F car.

This world and even this forum is full of haters and jealous/envious people. Thats just life. 9 out of 10 people I interact with when Im in my cars are in a negative manner... And I always have a smile on my face no matter what.

I had my Gallardo parked infront of a restaurant yesterday while my friend walked in to grab us food... 4, 30 something year old men walked up to the car and asked me why I have rims and stuff done to a car thats leased? I said the car is paid off and what makes you think its leased? They said only an idiot pays a expensive car off thats going to lose value... I said it seems like you guys have life figured out! Hope im that smart in 10 years... One guy says to me, its a nice car but you know I hate you right? I started laughing... He didn't...

I asked him, your not serious are you? You hate a complete stranger over a expensive materialistic possession??? Silence and they walked away...

I wont be driving my Lambo in Toronto no more, just way too much negativity... I got a drink thrown at my car while driving a few days ago... couple days before that i come back to the car and someone emptied a whole bottle of pop over it and stuck gum everywhere...

Just don't understand why people think like that? There will always be others more blessed and fortunate than others. Who cares about what damn car or watch your wearing. Last time I checked the important things in life are family, health and happiness... To each his own

Wow, post like these really make me sad inside. To know that I have to share a planet with people like that is embarrassing and sickening. Ill always respect anyone and everyone doing better than me period. I don't care if your car is paid off, leased, barrowed, stolen or rented, I'm still going to smile and say "nice car". Even if it isn't my taste. I use other's success as motivation for me to work harder so one day I can live like them or better.

Agreed. Whenever I see someone in a better position than I am, whether it's that they have more money, or they are stronger/bigger, or smarter, I don't even think about hating that person for a second. It's motivating to see someone doing great in their lives.

When I saw a yellow Gallardo cruising on the highway, that made my day. I couldn't stop thinking about how crazy and cool that must have been. I can't believe people actually get upset over things like these. I guess those are the kinds of people who will never own them, those who want to see others fail.

Why? It's not always interesting to spend savings just like that... Even if you have the money in the bank, sometimes getting a loan is the better option ;)
sorry but i don't agree with you this cars are pure luxury nothing else. Not something that you refinance your house for down payment and keep paying 10k+ a month, and on top of that insurance premiums which can easily be another 10k a year, maintenance cost like 5k+ for service it adds up...........so there for i invested my money first and my luxury car is my tax ride off......no loans no monthly payments..

Much respect to those who have earned the vehicles and also a great deal to those who are in a position to be given one, they have a fantastic start to life which could really benefit local and global economies if they use the funding they'll be given correctly.

Currently 24, gone from living in government housing in England whilst growing up to living in Canada as the youngest general manager in a billion dollar company. Always on the look out for opportunities that I can run with that will give me the opportunity to live comfortably (Note: I've had plenty of opportunities to "be rich" in my life if I'd put in the effort, I just didn't enjoy them, why do what you don't enjoy.).

Currently drive a mustang and I pride myself on where I was and where I am now. One day I'll own a lamborghini, whether it's 5, 10 or 20 years, I'll keep smiling for the day it happens.

P.S. This is my first post, I've lurked for a long time but never felt the need to share an opinion. The cherry is broken.

I can tell you that if you believe contentness will come with a lambo, you have another thing coming. Yes, they are fun and I find it rather nuts that some of you are wanting one by 21 or 25 years old. Mixed priorities? Are you also going to have a house to park it in by then too? Surely you would not leave one in an apartment parking lot. Liquid Assets has shared an interesting and rather fimiliar story to us. I never owned the F430 spider or Gallardo my uncle had but drove them by myself plenty of times when in Florida and have had some pretty negative experiances with them aswell. The big problem is attention. They are a blast to drive, look at, listen to and just be in the presence of but at the end of the day, I was glad I did not own it. he has since sold them and now lives in Thailand. People WILL hate you for what you have! Believe it and be ready for it; especially if you are young!

Haters gonna hate.
But seriously, the hate is bad enough with the Porsche.....no matter what forum I go to(besides L4P) people give me crap about it because I'm so young and how I'm not grateful. What I love about this is how those people don't even know me one bit.
I honestly don't care about the hate, I'll never buy a car based on how others will think of me after I own it. If I like it, I'll buy it....I don't care what others think. Now I wouldn't say that high-end cars are a source of happiness(because they're not), but they do contribute to it a little bit.....at least to me. There's something about being able to turn a key and suddenly be in your own little world ;)

This is interesting. Im curious to know, and maybe this question belongs in another thread all by itself, but i am curious to know who has gotten rid of their Exotic or Luxury vehicle because the abuse was too much, or they felt like they were treated a lot differently than having a car that was probably not as luxurious. It would be sad to work so hard to obtain such a vehicle only to not be able to enjoy it because one felt like maybe the attention was too much both negative and positive, or the abuse from having those cars were too much.

he quit driving them in the city. he bought an 03 SL500 for city use and daily after getting fed up with finding key marks on his cars and people leaving trash by it and even one time found a spike behind the rear wheel in a grocery lot to intentionally puncture his tire. This was when he was living in Ft lauderdale and did business and worked control in Miami. He decided to use them for the mountains and road trips to the country side and just gave up on using them around PEOPLE. No one in the mountains ever bothered him and hell, it was the nicest car up there in highlands. lol city folks, let me tell ya. Or maybe it was just because it was south Florida :ohwell:

If you can maintain a level head while driving/owning these types of cars the probability of getting negative attention decreases significantly. I was in Miami a couple months ago in a BOSTON MARKET of all places and a guy pulls up in Porsche and then proceeds to find someone to talk to about his car... he then goes on to say "WELL, I HAVE A LAMBO" quite loud and everybody turned and looked at him - douche.

In the same respect, I drove a Murci thru downtown LA once and barely turned any heads.

may be true to some extent but he was about as humble and quiet as a guy can be. always kept to himself, dressed like a bum so no one ever suspected they were his cars. Some of the places he took them (including the airport for work) were where the problems were.

While I like the angle your looking at it from, I would respectfully disagree that it would significantly decrease negative attention... The whole thing here is not about you but your car. The ones who are going to bring you negative outlook and feedback will do so without you looking or saying one word to them, and thats not even counting what happens when your car is parked and your not even around.

Seems you folks need to move. I have had mine in and around major cities here in Texas and get nothing but love from people. I get the occasional person on the freeway that gets over zealous and tail gates but I haven't experienced (knock on wood) any animosity towards the car.

What does everyone do to be able to buy a lambo? Please tell me so I can get one, spread the wisdom ;)

Brown Magic Sorcery.

It will be the new biggest thing until my next thing comes out. I piss excellence.

Next big thing would be bottling that piss. The next red bull.

Im in Hydroblasting. Make about $90k, my wife makes about $30k from a small business she started 2 years ago, we have no debt and live well beneath our means. I could buy one now if I wanted the payments, but I dont. So ill wait to pay cash. Might be 4 years, might be 10, but either way, I WONT have payments.

this is the smart route. we paid cash for our home to avoid mortgage and are lucky as hell it is paid off in this economy and market. we are not going anywhere!

Holy awesomeness Batman, it seems about 92 THOUSAND people liked what I said...
Well, I hope it inspired at least 1% of those, so we'll get 1000 new super cars soon on the 4 :D

Ok I've read this whole thread and I'm in shock of some people and some people I hope to be like some day. I'm 28 with a nice house, wife and 2.9 kids(3rd this month). I do very well for myself and my family does whatever we want when we want. I've had a few nice cars over my short life time and I can tell you no material item in life is worth going into massive debt over(cars, boats, motorcycles). To buy a Lambo at the age of 20-21 is just not a very smart life choose i think. Unless your Justin Bieber. Your at a point in your life where working hard and putting in the time and figuring out life should be more important. I think setting goals to buy something at different ages is a good idea, always need something to work for. But the car will only make you happy for a little while then your still stuck with the payment and a car you really never drive bc its a pain in the ass or just don't have time. Yeah Yeah that will never be me, well I said the same thing and did the same thing. What do you have to look forward to in your mid 30s-even 40s? You've already owned the one of the greatest cars of all time. A Lambo is a car that you give yourself after you've busted your ass for many many many years of hard work and late nights at the office.

Just my two cents...

How many of you live in socal?

I will soon live as of the 19th. :D

And no I don't own a Lambo. I do hope to own one within the next 5 years or so maybe an early Diablo like a 91 or something along those lines and develop a supercar of my own design.

The title should have been "How old were you when you got your first Lambo and paid for it in CASH?"

Then it would have been more interesting...
Still the same here.

Why? It's not always interesting to spend savings just like that... Even if you have the money in the bank, sometimes getting a loan is the better option ;)
This is very true. It was better for me to finance my Viper than to own it outright.

I would have to guess 90% of Lambo owners who bought one around age 25 or before are entrepreneur's and didn't do the whole university/school thing... don't really see anyone landing a "job" right out of school well enough to own one. Also by "working hard" i take that as actual work and not school also for this age group. I'm just trying to make sense of it lol.
JD here.

had my first lambo when i was 24...huge mistake as I should have invested that money instead. sold it..and invested what I got out of it.
I constantly think about this. To still be driving the Viper around and have $90k to play with would have definitely made some better returns and I still would have been happy in the car I had. But then I think about the fun, experiences, and where Lamborghini ownership has taken me business wise. . . and that return, while not at a financial level I could be had I used the $90k liquid, is still very great. It's pretty fun to own one of the only companies in the world that produces a true RWD conversion kit for a Murcielago and having Lamborghini dealers calling me with questions about RWD Murcielagos.

Personally, I went from having 5 vehicles (Grand National, JDM STi powered WRX wagon, STi w/ $40k in aftermarket, H1, Kawasaki Ultra150) to 2 (Viper & H1) to 1 (Murci). I spend less every year with the Lamborghini compared to the storage, insurance, and maintenance with the other vehicles.
Based off of your sig, you could downsize and own a Lambo.

I daily drive the Murci, picked up a BMW 2002 to lessen the miles on the Murci, but the 2002 has turned into the 'runner' car for pointless short trips, everything else is still Murci. Aside from the clutch, the Murci has required less maintenance over the past 8k miles than the 2002 in the past two months.

As for the "what's next" part. . . I think that BC is the only one who has gone there. A friend with a Lambo and I frequently talk about what's next. I really have no clue what's next. . . and for the first time in my life, I haven't been looking for a new car. The Viper was my "must own" car and I loved every second with the car, I owned it for a little over a year before deciding it was time to move on. I bought the 2002 October 17th, had it on the road November 15th, and currently looking for a replacement.

I currently live in an apartment, Lambo is underground with the 2002. Along with 30+ other cars.

I have zero interest in being tied up by a house. I have some equity in the San Diego condo, which is family owned, that's as far as I want to be tied to ownership. For the most part being mobile and living in a downtown atmosphere is more important than having a house to park it by (or having a dog/kids/5+ cars). In the past 12 months I've moved cross-country, twice. If I owned a house, life would be hell for me right now.

well, I meant like a regular apartment complex. i understand you live in a high rise with underground parking (which is different from what I was going for). I have seen people park gallardos in apartment complexes with rent only being $800 a month and think they are crazy.

I agree, why buy 5 ok cars when you can buy 1 or 2 nice cars. I want to enjoy my money regardless of my age.

Well said, set out your dreams then plan to accomplish them, for those who hate, it is just a complete waste of energy.

People hate like there is no tommrw......I plan to own a lambo before I die..that's anywhere in between my age right now 21 till I dieee. Hopefully one day.

Agree with this....I just don't see how normal 20 yr old's even think about getting a Lambo
