I worked with a company here in the UK who specialize in adapting containers for modular units. Some of the projects the used them for were McDonald Restaurants and also small scale supermarkets.
Their flagship project from breaking ground to the store opening was just under 13 days!!!
Crazy the things people can do with these things simply by opening up the sides.

I downloaded some software for working with them and some Revit models. But haven't got around to doing anything with them. I think they'd be excellent for making a workshop/garage on the farm.

IMHO: I thought the movie was so-so. However, the shipping container house for the lead character was off-the-chain! Fvcking loved it. I would def model it and have close by water as well.
