Default Hennessey Twin Turbo Ford GT Sets New Texas Mile Record

246.8 mph is the new record for the Texas Mile (for cars running on the Chase Field runway in Beeville). Congrats to owner Mark Heidaker and driver Sean Kennedy. I think that the car has a bit more in it. We will see.

It's funny, I was just thinking about this earlier today. But I was wondering, will anyone ever beat Heffner's Standing Mile record from 2010? 266MPH.

What plays a role as far as different locations go? Altitude, surface temp/condition, humidity, etc etc?

Congrats to Hennessey for the awesome run. Any video?

Which is 397.101 km for people like me...
Faster than a non-SS Veyron I presume, cause it only needed 1 mile to achieve it...

THATS INSANE!!! However I've always wondered, what top speeds are these things capable of? I mean how much faster can a 1000+ WHP GT go if it had a longer playground? any ideas experts?

What I'm trying to understand John is did they reset the records when they moved to Chase Airfield?

Not sure how legit the numbers from the Florida Mile are. The event is no longer in existence as the distance / speed numbers were suspect. Not sure about how Texas Mile classifies their records. I do know that our GT is the fastest car to run at the new runway in Beeville. The UGT Lambo was fastest at the old location in Goliad with their impressive 250.1 mph run.

Update: Camo GT just ran 250.1 mph which is now the fastest for Texas Mile Beeville and ties the Lambo run from Goliad. We ran 200 mph in the 1/2 mile. More to come.
