    Default Texas

I will be heading to Texas in August/September (Not sure of the dates yet). Flying down with one of my best friends and have plans to see these cities; Houston, Galveston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Texarkana, and Waco. So far we only plan on seeing the sixth floor museum, texas rangers museum, and the cowboys stadium. Can anybody recommend any good bars/clubs/tourist type places to see while we're down there? Will also be hopefully be renting an exotic for a day in Houston.

Kimball Art Museum is worth the 20 minute drive from the Deathstar that is Cowboys Stadium. You might also want to check out and see if there are any concerts going on at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas. Buzzard Billy's in Waco has awesome seafood with some nice scenery (not talking about the outdoors haha). And as you know, it's hot as hell, so be ready for that :P

Will definitely check out Buzzard Billys and looking into the art museum. Preparing for the heat, might check out a beach down there.

In Houston for touristy stuff consider Space Center Houston. Space Center Houston I work at NASA so I'm biased. I'm not sure to recommend the Alamo since most out-of-staters don't see what the big deal is when they see it. The riverwalk has lots of bars in San Antonio. Moody Gardens in Galveston is worth a quick visit and the railroad museum is cheap.

+1 For Moody Gardens. I ate at a really good Mexican restaurant in Austin, the name doesn't come to me but if I remember Ill check back in.

I don't know if you plan on doing any shopping but Houston Galleria is one of my favorite malls, any store you could imagine.

I took a tour of this battle ship when I was a kid and it was neat.

If you are into aviation related things the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Dallas is definitely worth a visit.

Good to know there's some decent bars around the riverwalk, will be doing that after the alamo. A little shopping may be in order at the Galleria to pick up a couple of nice souvenirs.

As far as our beaches, Galveston and Crystal beach suck. The water is nasty. Go further south for some nice beaches.
