Default Life of wine once being uncorked

Hey guys I opened a bottle of White wine early last week but didn't have time to finish it. I put the cork back in the bottle and its been sitting in the fridge but I was wondering whats the life of wine once first taking the cork out of the bottle.

    Thanks
    Ash

Thats what I mean. It should last a few days. Maybe 4 or so. The air is what ruins the wine.

Depends on the wine, as well. Some "massive" red wines sometimes need to be decanted for several days or longer before they open up.

Each wine has a different life after being opened, but there are many things you can do to help make them last longer. I would suggest looking up a product called Vineyard Fresh. I use it all the time and it seems to do wonders. It is a bottle of argon gas that creates a barrier so that oxygen can't get to the wine and age it.

I have a problem with this all the time as the wife is currently pregnant and I am drinking solo. I think I've finally come up with the solution though...drink more.

But seriously, there are a number of vacuum sealers and other gadgets like the previously mentioned Vineyard Fresh that will help. On average though you are pushing it with a bottle thats been open for a week or more.

Most reds I can drink the next day, but not the 2nd.

Whites are fine for a few days to a week if refrigerated.
