About to sell wine at auction - thank you new money!!
A few weeks ago, I was curious what bottles of certain wines I own were selling for. Did a search, and was flabbergasted at how much certain vintages and producers have gone up in the past several years. Seems that a lot of the newly wealthy folks overseas see high-end wine as a status symbol, especially the mainland Chinese and the former Soviet Union republics. Luckily I'm in the same area as several notable auction houses, so I'm about to ship them a list of what I have and get these on the auction block here shortly.
Anyone sold wine at auction, recently or ever? Curious how big of a cut the auction house took.
I'll post pics of what I'll be selling here in a bit.....When I'm not here, I'm slinging IT infrastructure or gone golfing

Not sure about wine specific but generally the auction rates around here are like 25-30% depending on the auction house.
I'd be curious to know what you might be getting rid of.East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.

Great wines there! Expect to give up about 15-18% depending on what you negotiate and what auction you use.
