We opened this one last weekend while on vacation at the Heritage House in Mendocino - enjoyed it before dinner w/ some cheese and fresh rasberries. Melville's wine maker is Greg Brewer, one half of the Brewer ~ Clifton due of the Santa Rita Hills. Next time you're up in Santa Barbara County wine country, make sure to stop by the Melville vineyard.

I could jog to Melville within the hour. It's a great place to visit and purchase wine from. Gainey Vineyard is consistently great with the reds- cab franc, merlot, syrah, pinot noir. Daniel Gehrs has some great ports too. I just had their 2000 vintage the other night with an unsafe amount of chocolate.
Go Santa Rita Hills!
