Default Brewer ~ Clifton - Pinot Noir, 2004, Ashley's, Santa Rita Hills

Brewer ~ Clifton wines are the joint product of Greg Brewer, wine-maker at Melville, and Steve Clifton, wine-maker and owner of Palmina - both amazing vineyards themselves. Based in Santa Barbara County, the fruit is grown and sourced from vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation, and produced/bottled in Lompoc, CA.

Brewer ~ Clifton
Pinot Noir, 2004, Ashley's, Santa Rita Hills

Bold dark fruit, lavender followed by black cherry and watermelon rind flavors. Beautifully balanced and silky.

2,304 bottles produced

This is absolutely one of favorite Pinots. We 9 bottles of a case left, and while this wine can cellar longer, decided to open one last weekend to check in on it. Not that it matters, but I do love the presentation of the wax-dipped cork covering, a hallmark of the higher-endd Melville wines.

Still REALLY young for a B-C pinot!! I've got a few '06's and won't open them for a good 3-5 more years...these are whole cluster and need time in the bottle, baby!

Isn't Ashley's Vineyard owned by Bill Foley? I could have sworn I just had a Pinot Nior from the same vineyard but by Foley and it was outstanding! Another stop to add on my list for Santa Barbara.
