Day one of a recent wine outing from our mini-vacation last week (more to follow)...
Jen, take note - this is the same family that owns
Everette Ridge!
Esterlina Vineyards is a family-owned, California boutique winery located near the Mendocino coast, nestled in the highlands above Philo. The vineyard produces a variety of exceptional fine wines in limited quantities from grapes grown primarily in the family's own vineyards, including the sought-after appellations such as Cole Ranch. Esterlina owns the only vineyard in the Cole Ranch Appellation.
Esterlina is known for their cool-climate varietals, but has an amazing array of wines across the spectrum. Be advised that Esterlina is by
appointment only, so call in advance. First, arrive in Philo, and find the first
unmarked road on the Eastern border of Handley Vineyards.
A photolog of our wine tasting...
Climb the road, about 2 miles up...
Nearing the top of the hill, vineyards above!
The view down...
Up to the vineyards...
The entrance... (take note of the phone number)
MissiG's Cayenne, seeing some dirt for a change!
The view...
MissiG approves of the view...
Some of the facilities...
A new lable for the family, evidently already a cult Rose on the East Coast (using fruit from the Everatte Ridge property, which the family also owns - note it indicates "Sonoma")... simply delicious!
Now on the real reason we came here!
Miles, hoping for a sip!
Ahhh... the good life.
And back down the hill...
The end!
