Default Are These California Cabs Any Good?

After seeing so many people raving about California wines I decided to pick up a few bottles from the local LCBO (Canadian totalitarian government run liqour store). I was hoping to find some of the fine Napa Valley varieties that have been posted about here on the forum, but these two bottles were the best that I could do...

I even checked the VIP 'Vintages' section, but all they had were Merlots, and I needed a Cab for dinner with my folks tomorrow night. Is anyone familiar with these vineyards?

Also, is that Mi Sueno even sold in stores? Or do you need to get it directly from the proprietor?

Cheers!

And to round off the night I also picked up some San Fran beer!

Mondavi and Beringer have been making great wines for a LONG time - also making some cheap, mass produced stuff ( a lot of it, actually), but the reserve-type stuff you got is worth having - just cellar it for at least 5 years if you can. 10 is better.

Well the Beringer was consumed last night along side a nice RibEye, but I'll try to cellar the next one. The selection of California grape really sucks up here, I almost had to go with E&J...

I haven't lived in TO for 15 years but the Vintages down on Harborfront West used to have a very good selection. Used to be that the LCBO was the worlds largest importer of wine. Wonder if that's still true?
