Much to my wife's dismay, I do tend to spend a pretty good portion of income on cars and wine. She really has nothing to say though since she has a shoe collection that comes close to my wine.

Here is an article that Wine Spectator did on my collection last January.

Pahlmeyer is up there for me. Screaming Eagle was a huge disappointment after all the hype. There's another boutique Cab that I'm trying to think of, but I'll have to get back when I can remember the name.

EDIT: It's Harlan, the cab I tried was the tits!! Can't recall the exact year, but it may have been '05.

I concur with all the thumbs up on a Caymus. Always a consistently good drinker.

2 other favs are the Merryvale - Profile and nice Grgich Hills - Cab.

I envy everyone on the West Coast. FedEx loves leaving my ordered cases on the loading dock in the sun usually. Never tastes as good as home.

I remember that article! The story about your parents' guest swiping one of your bottles reminded me of when my mom grabbed a bottle b/c she needed a red for a stew. Though a Beringer Bancroft Ranch merlot isn't anywhere near the level of a '61 Ch. M-R, it was still painful nonetheless when I discovered what had become of it......

I totally agree with hovy on this one. Another good one that I like as more of a day to day cab is the BV Private Reserve Georges De Latour from 1997- let it open up for a bit and it is so rich and full bodied mmm...I might open one tonight now that I think about it
