    Default Pinot Noir

For all you wine drinkers, can you recommend a good one to try?

    Thanks

that is like asking what kind of car should i buy? there are a lot of different styles that will appease different palettes.

for me, it's burgundy any day over CA or OR pinots; but, even then, there of course lots of hits and misses.

I know its a very generic question.

Just seeing what peoples taste are. I tried a glass once in a restaurant and really like it. Just cant remember what I drank.

Maybe a better thing to do is go wine tasting in livermore or maybe even napa?

i'd go to K&L Wines (SF or Redwood City) and pick up a few different bottles from a few different regions: burgundy (as expensive as you can afford), 2-3 different regions in CA, and 1-2 Williamette (sp?) from Oregon.

from there, you'll get a better idea of what you like... but it's a long complicated road you're about to travel down.

    2Euro,

Chuck represents one end of the spectrum - the end that knows what the hell they are doing when it comes to wine. If you want an opinion from the OTHER end of the spectrum, ill chime in with my approach to Pino Noir buying

Go into the wine store.....find three bottles of Pino Noir that are over $30.....then pick the label that looks the coolest or like you know what your doing....

    DONE.

    Enjoy!

How much do you want to spend?

My favortite Pinot Noir is from Ambullneo Vineyards, their 2005 Bulldog Reserve.

I would be willing to spend within the $100 range. But taste is a big buying power for me. If it tastes really good, i'd be willing to buy it. Whether its $30 or $100+ wine.
