Default Williams Selyem 2004 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

Williams Selyem 2004 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

Just got back from a week in Japan/China, so along w/ dinner had to pop a cork of some comfort wine... a bottle-full of jammy red fruit, rich w/ a nice, round toasty oak finish. Its cult status is a bit over-blown, but still a fantastic Pinot, and 2004 was a great year... and a good drive from SF on a long Summer weekend. We still have a few bottles of 2004 "Westside Road Neighbors" sitting in the cellar, looking forward to those soon!

I'm buzzing to know the difference of good and bad wine. But this definitely looks like one to taste

I've got 6 bottles of '05 W-S in the cellar, haven't cracked one open yet, but over the past two years I've enjoyed several bottles of '96, '99, and '02.

Nice, Todd! The '05 should be very good. Recall which WS vineyards they are? The above was the Russian River Valley vineyard... I'm still sitting on a few West Side Road Neighbors, as well as a Sonoma Coast and a Central Coast WS pinots... 2004's are drinking beautifully right now, you're '05's can't be far off.

I am surprised that you're a William Selyem fan I know RP generally rates these wines in the high 80'!

I'm not a ratings chaser - they are great wines. I've got plenty of wines rated highly by RP, and plenty that are not. Unless he's here drinking them, he won't mind.
