TN: 2006 Beckmen Vineyards Estate Grenache
A beautiful, floral and fruit nose that has banana peel and blueberries being very obvious, some soap, and sweet lilacs. Bodyfeel is very nice, rich without being syrupy, and on the palate, blueberry pie filling, leather, and the stems from fruit, where it's mostly the bitterness, but you know that there is fruit underneath. The bitterness is a slight put-off from what would otherwise be an amazing New World wine - perhaps with time this would go away, but I have no more left to find out. Still, for $22.00, this is a tremendously enjoyable wine and a clear example of the quality winemaking coming out of Beckmen these days.
