Default TN: 2004 Mi Sueno "El Llano"

I'm thinking the tannins in this wine (based on other reviews) have all mellowed out, because I'm getting almost none at all. It is, however, a very rich, dark wine, with ripe fruits (old world fans will not be happy) of black cherry and plum and cassis, some beef jerky and leather notes, and a finish of slightly astringent dark fruits and some tobacco. A good meritage, and it reminds me of a fruit-forward Sonoma cab, not so much Napa. On the 2nd day, even better, so while I originally thought this wine wouldn't cellar much longer, based on what it showed the 2nd day it does seem to have some life yet in it.

That's a very accurate assessment of El Llano.

Very nice of you to take time with such a great review...

We use EL Llano as table wine at our house,
the mi sueno family, from Mexico is self made, hard working (a lot like my family)
They take a lot of pride in their craft, and they are very passionate about their wines!
