Im not a big fan of blends, but I will definitely get one this weekend. Always looking to try new wines.

On the palette - wild strawberry, rhubarb, and sassafras.
And the finish - 30 plus seconds with an impression of chocolate/cherry pie.
Seriously, how the hell do you learn to describe wine like that? As my palette develops I have learned some new descriptions, but none as complicated. Either I should be supremely impressed or you are full of shit. Either way was a great read

In Napa for the first time in my life in June. Any recommendations/musts would be appreciated.

I am no expert on Napa wines but I would check out Welcome to Cain Vineyard & Winery for sure I really enjoyed the tour and the wines! Its a bit more obscure tour which I like better then the over popular big houses.

Many things are cool about Texas, but trying to get wine is not one of them.

The biggest liquor store in town said this wine is very tough to get. Nice.

Tough? If you are looking for some let me know. I have a case I just picked up in the basement and all of our local stores carry this.

    Chris,

Based on the fact that you like Rosenblum I would say hit up Cakebread while you are in Napa. While they are known for their Chards (2002 Chard is incredible) the 05 Cab is wonderful too.

    Welcome to Cakebread Cellars

This thread reminded me what a great movie Papillon is. I might need to grab a couple bottles and watch it again!
