Cabernets or Zins are my stuff. I classify them cost wise in 4 categories and have listed a favorite or two in each. What are yours?
Daily $10 - $25. J. Lohr, Louis Martini and Spellbound
Nice $25 - $50. Anything Rosenblum
Special Occasion $50 - $100. Pepperbridge and Joseph Phelps

in the $20-25 range try the Justin Cabernet - Paso Robles 2005. Not much touches it for the money IMO. J Lohr is always a favorite.
2001 Turbo PE700 - 2011 Wranger Unlimited - Lifted w/ 35's - 2010 - Zuma 125

Oh crumb, I could write a book.... Let me start with a couple obvious recommendations from the Zinfandel side of the world since that's one of my favorite grapes and you often don't find as much discussion about it as the Cabs:
The Marietta Old Vines, about $12 - $14 in these parts. Zin blend, we do in about 10 cases of this stuff a year. Edit: the 2nd row in my Avatar is 6 bottles of the stuff...
The Rosenblum Richard Sauret is probably my favorite Zin in the $25 range but it can be hard to find in these parts. Huge fruit, dark cherries, blueberries, mint, chocolate, wonderful stuff.
The Ridge Geyserville, another Zin blend, is one of my hands down all time favorites. Cellars extremely well and just gets better with time. Should be in the $35 range.
The Rosenblum Maggie's Reserve is starting to get into somewhat expensive territory, probably around $45, but highly recommended. Also ages well.
Don't purchase a lot of Zins above that price range however there are 3 or 4 Turley's in the cellar at the moment. Wonderful stuff, but hard to justify the price.Loves wine, women and song
