"Grand Commandaria" (Cyprus) 1926 Vintage
Was going through some boxes last night and found a bottle of that. I don't know where I got it from or how it got in a box in my storage, but it's there. I want to know if anybody knows if it's crap or if its worth drinking/selling.
Anybody know what the hell it is? I've personally never heard of it before. I'm assuming it's port. Check attachment for a picture of the bottle. I don't assume it will be worth anything since it isn't from france, but any help is appreciated...and if it comes down to it ill just drink it and be done with it. Figured I'd ask, Thanks.Last edited by EnzotheBaker; 03-19-2009 at 05:56 AM.

"This wine from Cyprus, has a long history from the Knights Templer until the last century, it is a dessert wine, that generally is "unfortified" meaning it has no spirit added, ports and sherries have grape spirit added to take the alcohol level above 14%, this wine usually achieves about 15% with no additions, As to value, not a great deal I'm afraid, perhaps GBP £5/10, however it may be still drinkable.
I hope this answers your question,
Kind regards,
David Baines Wine Consultant.
PS, I forgot to mention that the wine is not from 1926 as the screw-top on the bottle is from the 70s/80s in 1926 they didn't know how to make those. "

HA ! I go to Cyprus every year, and I always make sure I bring a couple of bottles back. It is cheap Sherry to be honest, but I LOVE IT. unfortunately it is not worth much ! so open it and enjoy it !
