I know nothing about the wheel industry.

This is not a bash against the ADV.1 or its operational partners at all.

My only comment would be to people in the know:

If this truly affects the integrity negatively of the wheel and there is a cover up are there not regulatory bodies to bring this to their attention?

As a consumer I guess a refund is fine and dandy

But what are the ramifications for the wheel manufacturer?

    Product recalls? fines?

Interested to find out why the wholes were threaded and only two wheels if it was strictly just for lightening purposes.

Also on the other forum they seemed to question the validity of a certain certification you have. Again, are there not governing bodies to ensure that false claims cannot be made? It seems CRAZY to me as manufacturer that pays through the teeth to all these agencies to protect the public from concerns like this.

I just don't get why there would be any confusion or why people would feel mislead especially with something as serious as the wheels you put on your car that transports you and your family.

I'm not in the industry but I've been buying wheels over 20 years....last I knew there is no one who regulates the wheel industry to report issues to. There is no BAR Association, no AMA, no CDC or FDA. You can report issues to the BBB but they have no power to correct anything nor chastize the business if fault is determined. You could sue, obviously...but others here know more about that. I'm sure there would have to be clear documentation of damages to sue over.
In other words, we wheel lovers can only turn to the net and word of mouth for remedy.
In my 20-something years of buying wheels, I have been burned once or twice. As a result, I only buy local now. If I do use an out of area dealer, it will be one I have established a relationship with. Usually thats enough.

I had a problem with offsets on my first set of ADV.1's (10 Trakspecs) not clearing the calipers on my E55.

Jordan and Terrance were quick to fix it, emailed me constantly to update the status. After new centers were made the wheels preformed great the entire time I owned them.

Bummed out to read an experience like this but I hope you find a solution to the problem.

Exactly why I buy HRE's. Over 30 years in the wheel industry. Tried and proven.

Why not, Germany has TÜV...aftermarket parts manufactures must pass strict guidelines and be certified before products can be sold to the public/used on public roads.

^^^^I think that Akiruno is 100% right!!! Why do you think that we don't need an gov. agency to test products before they can be sold to the public and used on public roads.

Why do you think we need a gov't agency to monitor every aspect of our lives? If you can't buy a wheel that will work safely on your car without gov't involvement, maybe you do need the gov't to take care of you. I don't. I want them out of my life and out of my pocket. I'm capable of thinking for myself.

I'd hate for this thread to turn into a political debate of republicans vs democrats....I can see now that it's headed that way.
I am going to add that without a regulatory body, we will continue to see negligence by wheel manufacturers. The watchdog agency doesn't have to be governmental. It can be made up with business leaders and interested citizens. The American Bar Association is not governmental.
Neither is the American Medical Association. Why even suggest it has to be. Just to go off on a needless debate?
Wheels are just as important as the engine. We shouldn't have to risk our safety buying something this important cause we want something extra. I would volunteer to help charter a group. Anyone else interested?
