There is a quick intro, back on topic where is a good cheaper way for a youngster to get his permit in the Valley, Beverly Hills area?

Nothing to Crazy expensive I need excess cash for my car so any suggestions?

Well in Cali, now you HAVE to take a hands on driving course. There are some that cost from $100 - $300. Not like 7 years ago when I got my license, just take the written test, and drive with the DMV instructor and BAM, permit on hand .

That's if your under 18. If not, then you can just take the written test and schedule a drive with an instructor.

If you are over 18, you can go to the DMV ask to take the written test (multiple choice question). Once you pass that. Schedule a day to do your driving test with a DMV instructor. (They will not TEACH you to drive, they will score you on how you drive) if you pass that, then you get your permit and your license will be mailed to you 1-2 weeks later.

If your under 18, then you have to find one of those driving schools. Once you complete that, they will give you proof that you finished driver ed. Which you take that proof to the DMV then you can proceed to take your written test.

once you do get your license and a car you really should consider taking a defensive driving class/school

I took one when I started driving and have not had a single incident and have used the skills I learned there
I know help with the school that I went to
