Default What to do in Monterey, CA

Hey guys, I live in Vermont (LOL) and my family and I might be going to monterey for Christmas break for a week. I actually picked monterey because I have heard it is an automotive hot spot. So, I was wondering if you guys can give me some ideas on what to do while I'm there. (Racetracks, dealerships, shows, supercar hot spots, etc.). Thank you guys in advance!

Monterey is the greatest place in the world for cars...but only for 1 week in August. The other 51 weeks of the year, it's a phenomenal place to relax, play golf and view marine life, but don't expect to be seeing 12 Veyrons lined up. The cars still flow through, but far less than Car Week. Don't get me wrong though, Monterey is one of the coolest places in the world and if you're looking for a unique experience, go there!

Hit the aquarium, hang out in Carmel, cruise down to Hearst Castle, 17 mile drive in Pebble Beach, Cannery Row / the wharf, golf, shop, pay your parking tickets and go home.

get a nice sporty rental car and drive down highway 1, on the way down, stop by carmel, morro bay, hearst castle, santa barbara. if you dont have that much time, the drive up north is also good. stop by santa cruz, half moon bay ritz, have lunch at half moon bay brewery, keep going to SF for dinner.

monterey is pretty dead at night.

I think everything you need to know is listed above. You will not see any cars as Monterey is only a car mecca during that one week in august but it is one of the most relaxing places in the country.
    1. The Aquarium as mentioned above is one of the places most people visit
    2. Downtown Carmel is good for half a day
    3. 17 mile drive is a scienic place to drive
    4. Golf is very big so if your family is in to it make sure you check it out
    5. There is some great places to eat in Carmel
    I think thats about it.

Monterey is more a relaxing part of town. Just play some golf, stop by the spa, have a good meal and enjoy some wine.

PS. Find out when high tide is and try to do it then. Winter surf will be spectacular
