There is no difference on new car warranties, leased or owned; they are the same.

You do know that depreciation is built into the lease payment, right?

    Lease Payment Calculation Formula:
(Cap Cost – Residual Value) / Term = Depreciation
(Cap Cost + Residual Value) X Base Rate = Interest
Depreciation + Interest = Base Monthly Payment

    MTK: GL with your search.
thanks for pointing that out.. but there is 2 differences..

insurance coverage on lease has to be 100/300k coverage
and most lease program covers gap insurance..
    especially with these depreciating assets..

I realize there is no diff. in the warranty but if he's only keeping it 36k miles or whatever the lease entails its doubtful he'll run into the problems he'd incur if he owned it outright b/c most people who "own" cars run them out of warranty range. Whereas with a lease you're guaranteed to be covered as long as you stick to the mileage limits. Seeing as this is the nicest "dog" only vehicle on the planet I wouldn't forsee sticking to the mileage limits as a problem unless the pup wants to play at a dog park across the country once/month.

Secondly I do also realize that depreciation is built into a lease but 3 year lease depreciation on a rover is around 50%...you could do that in the first year of ownership if you bought it. I see people around here buy a rover and sell it for half if not less than half 1-2 years later. Depreciation on a lease is usually more fair for the lessee especially late in the model production. *(Rumor on the Rover is a new body is coming in 2012 or 2013)

I don't believe depreciation and money are issues with MTK. But the fact still exists that RR's are not a dependable choice. Warranties are great, however the vehicle is worthless if it has to be kept in the shop instead of your garage.

Knick won't do a Cayenne Turbo now that I have one

We chatted and for where he lives and what he wants to use it for, the RR Full Size supercharged is the way to go no doubt!

    Good luck Knick!!
