Alices may be good. How long of a drive is that? Bad thing is many people go to SR from different forums so not everyone would arrive at 930am. We were requested by SR management to arrive after 10am because of residents complaining about our exhaust notes and noise etc.

The best way to go is down to Saratoga up to Skyline, turn right and drive down the awesome backroads to Alices. This is pretty much the way I go home every day from SR. Total time to Alices is about 40 min.

I am sure if we take freeway road as part of the drive it will be faster than skyline drive all the way. I would estimate 30 min drive with freeway being part of the driving directions.
In regards of timing you right, people come from different forums, but usually by 10am most of the folks are at the SR already. I was thinking 11am just because it is still early in the day and not too many cars on the road leaving us with the road to play on
. This is just a suggestion.
All in all it seems that Alices is the place to go? Is that cool with everyone? If so lets make it official :-).

Typically, whenever our Cobra gang goes, and I don't feel like taking Big-Basin up to 35, I will take I-280 North and get off on Woodside Road (Hwy.84), then left on 84 through the small town of Woodside, then continue until you see the fork for La Honda (left) or Sklyine (right)... continue RIGHT... very nice ride up unless trere's a slowpoke but that's just part of the ride up. The next Stop sign is the intersection of 35/84; Alices is seen across the street; there's also a tiny strip mall there on the right.
What's good about this is when everyone needs to leave in any direction, it's a GREAT drive home (except for the Ramies... they live out there.)

Just had a thought.... what if we don't impinge on SR... how about we meet in the Century Theater parking lot near "Flames" and get there as early as "necessary"? This way, we can better plan the lunch, then at 10AM, gingerly migrate to SR and let everyone else know if they want to tag along and then take off by say 10:45? It'll just suck for those that don't read this thread....

Good thinking, I am for it,however, I think there are lot more people coming in from other forums who don't read L4P and would not know about the drive, but I am sure would still enjoy the ride. I for one think the more beauties we get the better
. However, we live in democracy (at least we think so) so what ever majority decides that should be the plan. Only we need to make a decision by tomorrow so we can post final meeting place, route and launch place.

Sounds like a good idea! I'll try to make that but may end up meeting you guys at SR. Either way I'm down. Euro Sunday will be the next day and I will meet up there and have whoever willing cruise from Mountain View to San Lorenzo for our Club BBQ (real casual). Should be a fun weekend!
