cab will cost you $45 to get where you're going

or you can take BART - $7/person, 45 minutes, and maybe a $10-15 cab from the Civic Center stop.

Looks like City Rent-a-Car might be an economical option? I'd like to try and get a convertible. We'll take two days to shoot up towards Sonoma and then another overnite down to Monterey.

    Thanks for the great feedback/advice.

I had us in the wrong area. We're actually 2 blocks up from Fort Mason.

when the porsche is broke, which is often enough, i just go on priceline and say $30 for a car. if it's not a weekend, some rental car company has something available for that price.

Fort Mason is probably $60-65 cab ride and $20-25 from the BART station.

One of the worst areas in the city for parking. You can drive around for 20 minutes in that area looking for a spot (ask me how i know )While you are in the city, i'd avoid having a car. Just rent something for your sonoma/carmel leg.

To/from the airport, you could do a van shuttle if you want something semi-affordable.

if the hotel your staying @ has valet parking just use that, it'll be cheaper than a self park garage, most self park garages dont have in & out privileges and hotel valet parking has unlimited in/out and dont bother looking for street parking most have street cleaning or tow away.

on mason between o'farrell & geary theres a parking garage structure there that has a bunch of rental car companies
