the bay area tow truck thread
my car is a total POS and i just got towed for the second time in a month due to a coolant hose falling off (german engineering? please... i'll take japan *any* day!)
what tow truck companies have you used? that respect the car? and, most importantly, don't rape you on the bill?
(and, for the record, AAA is the biggest waste of time & money - they came to my car once, looked at it, "it's lowered, we don't do that", and drove off... without even recommending another company)
San Francisco
- Corvera's Towing - mom & pop shop, careful, flatbed, towed from SF to Fremont for $125
Peninsula
- Jay's and Sons Towing Service - nice funny old guy, flatbed, definitely an old pro, towed from Menlo Park to Fremont for $150
the more good experiences, the better... if i invested in a tow truck, i'd probably come out ahead.

I only using Action Towing, they are cheaper and way better.
They have towed several Carrera GT's for me and never one problem

Chuck, I had that problem twice with my car. The first time they fixed it, it came off a few months later. The second time, I ended up replacing the part that the hose connects to; I havent had the problem since. (knock on wood). Let me know if you need the part number and I'll ask my mechanic.

^^^^ Ag, need to wait for diagnosis - apparently some of the coolant hoses are impossible to reach without dropping the engine :O

Talk to Sharky or James yet, or is that where you already take your car?

MissionPass/Walts towing in Fremont. Have a few nice rigs. Towed away my first s2000 after I wrapped it around a pole. No damage done to the bumpers anything else. It was flatbeded.

DPM - that's where it gets towed... often (no fault of theirs usually, more the fault of that wonderful german engineering...)
