Question Just bought a Tissot Seastar... have a question....please come in

So I picked it up recently and I used it once. Today I went to pick it up from my closet and the watch was not moving at all. I picked it up and it started going. I had to adjust the time and date after.

Now, I thought this watch was an automatic watch, meaning I didnt need a watch winder to keep it going.

    Am I wrong ???

I just got rid of my seastar 1000 and yes I kept it on a winder, or it can be wound manually, if not on a winder or wound daily yes it will stop.

Automatic simply means it doesn't run off a battery

That's false. A manual mechanical movement doesn't run off a battery, but it most certainly is not an automatic either.

But as pointed out, that's not the whole story. Automatic movements don't run off a battery, nor do they require manual winding, if they are worn regularly.

But obviously He Doesn't wear it often if he has worn it once and went to his close to get it. I had a seastar AUTOMATIC and if you didnt have it on a winder and sat it down for more than a day it would run down and stop.

That's actually how "Omega" is pronounced by quite a few people within the company. I've seen several interviews conducted at SIHH and other events including a sit-down interview with Stephen Urquhart, the CEO of Omega International, where "Omega" was pronounced that way.
