Insuring my Panerai during extensive travel?
Gentlemen,
I've decided to spend a little less money on "things" and a lot more on "experiences." I'm heading overseas for the next couple of years.
With that said, I would like to take my PAM 321 with me. I'm afraid of theft, though.
Anyone know of an insurance company that will insure my panny for $9-10K while I glob trot?
Many thanks.
JL

If you will still have a home while you travel you can get it added to your homeowners policy as an endorsement. You can have watches added specifically or have an increased limit for Jewelry that covers all qualifying items up to that stated amount. Just ask your agent.

Jewelry writer... add it to your insurance policy and probably should keep it on there unless you like the risk of not having insurance lol.

IMO better to have an endorsement for a specific policy limit than to list each watch individually if you are like a lot of collectors who's inventory is constantly changing. Do really want to call your agent to tell him to take off this and add that? What's that? it got lost/stolen and you never had a chance to add it to the policy? Salduchi's has your denial letter already typed up. Just get like 100K-150k or whatever the amount you need in coverage and you know all your watches are valued under that amount. And Bam done deal! Oh..and its called a "Rider" but normally we refer to them as "Endorsements".
