Default Omega Seamaster James Bond 50th Anniversary Watch

Well, well, well — looks like Omega will be releasing a “limited edition” Omega Seamaster James Bond 50th Anniversary Watch this year. For now the details are scant on this watch — credit to HODINKEE for scooping this release via an Omega dealer in the UK who looks to have gotten ahead of itself in posting the watch on its website (the watch has been taken down from the dealer’s site). As you can see in the spy shots below, the Seamaster James Bond 50th Anniversary edition features a “007″ theme on dial with a red “50″ on the bezel (50th anniversary). The coolest part of this watch is the back — you can see the signature “bullet in a gun barrel” view that is present in the opening sequence of every James Bond movie. The bullet is further inscribed with “50 years of James Bond.” Interestingly, as Hodinkee pointed out, 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film series — though fifty years ago Bond was not wearing an Omega at all.

    “Limited edition” of 11,007 pieces

My only complaint with Omega is 11,007 is far from what I'd consider Limited Edition. They do this all the time. You could provide wristwear for an entire city with that much product. On a good note, high production numbers will drop the price significantly in the second hand market.

1007 would have been a "Limited Edition"

    I still want it though.

James Bond is the reason I found, and love, Omega's. Although right now, I personally think the Aqua Terra is the more handsome piece -the Seamaster PO is an Omega classic.

I'm not feeling the face (although i understand the watch is a "themed" one), but the back.....is to die for. Absolutely stunning case.

Nice caseback. The front could be better.

I agree, the caseback is by far the coolest aspect of this "limited edition"; unfortunately it's also the part that will be seen and admired the least.

I'm not at all a fan of the "007" patterned dial. It's a little tacky, if you ask me. I'd take the classic wave pattern on the regular SMPs any day!

Watch is tacky looking, ltd ed quantity is not limited to a quantity that matters and as Andrew said the coolest part will never be seen.
