Both have the 1950's case...so I'd assume they are the same thickness. The 312 is a step below the 233 IMO. I'd go for the 8 day power reserve.

based on pure thickness, both are close but the 233 wears thinner with the handwound movement...I had a 312 and moved on..love the clean look but just too tall..the dome on the 233 adds thickness...

for the poll...233...fang is a love hate thing with me..

As mentioned by others, the 233 is slightly thinner than the 312 but the dome crystal makes it "taller". 233 is on a different league from the 312 if you ask me.

233! i usually like the busy look. But I like PAMS for their simple, clean, retro classic look.

Tough one, but I would say 233 on pure looks. If you need the stop watch, use your Iphone!
