Maybe I used the wrong term. I mean the rounded-off square, Panerai-style case.

When you are ready to try something else you can sell it. I know Markus will buy it!

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across that way. Cushion's are cool, especially in vintage form. I just think there's too much copying going on. if I was designing a watch, it's the last thing i'd copy, right now.

How do you like your Kestrel?

^Actually the Marvin is a REPLICA of a vintage watch. The watch is new and the style old school. As for the Kestrel, it is a great bike for the long ride once you swap out the wheels and tweak the fork. At 17 lbs for 2K it is a hella value. A Cervelo is hella nicer but at my advanced age I can't see pumping 6K into a bike anymore.

The watch is well designed, except for the silly name (yes, I know it is a combo of his name) and font size of the silly name. Other than that, there is a lot to like about the watch. The date window is a nice change of pace compared to the standard micro window usually seen.

Whoa, a replica, huh? I'll check it out. My buddy had a kestrel, very nice bike. I miss riding. Are they still based in santa cruz?

I was really saying replica in jest as it's a naughty word and rightfully so on the 4. A replica is a watch that has a brand name and looks like a branded watch but is a FAKE. Marvin's just use the iconic style quite well in my opinion.

As for Kestrel they are still in Santa Cruz but were bought out by a big conglomerate that also owns Fuji and SE. The main impact is that Kestrel really focuses on endurance/triathlon bikes primarily now while Fuji is all about track and road bikes. My Team Fuji circa '85 was an epic racing bike for its time.

. Replica does seem to have a bad coonotation everywhere, but there are some crazy good replicas, as opposed to street fakes named after the original.

I wasn't aware of the kestrel buyout. Interesting. But then I was a mt biker. Kestrel did/does have a sweet mt bike, though.
