    Default Pam 177 questions

I'm thinking about picking one up. I've wanted a titanium Pam for a little while now, but I am debating whether or not I want to sell my 111 for it. Just curious to see if anybody can chime in with input on the durability of the case and how the Ti wears compared to the high polish. I feel like my 111 gets surface scratches too easily and the titanium case appears to be more durable, but that's why I'm asking here. I may just purchase the 177 and decide afterwards if I want to keep both or just one. Any advice is appreciated!

I have the 57 and love the look and feel of titanium. It is my understanding that titanium is a harder material, but mine does tend to show "smudges" more. I also think it may be more difficult for a general jeweler to remove the marks on titanium. Having said that, I love the marks on my 57; adds character...

I've also owned a 233 and it wears much larger. Of course, its the 1950 style case as well as SS. The Ti really makes it a more subtle, low profile piece.

the high polish of the 111 will definitely show all markings from daily wear and hairlines. however the one advantage high polish steel case has is you can use a basic capecod type cloth and clean it up for the light light surface markings. titanium will show less hairlines etc from daily wear. but when it does get marked it stands out clearly because most of them will go in a opposite direction of the brush finish. since titanium is pretty much always in brush finish capecod polish will not work here. however i do hear many people use "pen eraser" to clean up simple light markings on titanium brushed watches. for a more major refinish, if you take it into a jeweler who is experienced in these types of watches titanium should not be a problem to refinish either.

I wear one now daily. You can get this pen off ebay that does wonders for ti. Another thing about titanium is its self healing too.

Is the tip of the pen hard? I never knew there was such a thing! I got a couple Ti pieces with some desk diving marks that I didn't know how to remove.
