For real? Was well expecting 100 plus.

45k is a lot of money for a new brand and an untested piece that has not proven itself over time. 15k for a Devon Tread is one thing but triple that and the people who buy at that price range usually buy proven watches with big names.

True but a revolutionary proof of concept, its rather remarkable. Still no sold on how it works 100%

We've been seeing a ton of new innovative methods used to measure the passing of time. One look at the Complicated thread to confirm that. But you do highlight a good point, and that is, if this had the name Urwerk or MB&F on it would probably be around 100K. Best time to buy a watch is when you discover them before they get popular.

Was just wondering to myself what the liquid inside the watch was. I realized the name Hydro-Mechanical implies water, but was thinking to myself how evaporation and or freezing could cause issues.
After reading, I saw that the liquid is apparently fluorescein. Decided to do a little more research about it and discovered some interesting things. Apparently its used as a fluorescent tracer for a lot of applications including biochemical research, health care, air/sea rescue, and oil. From wikipedia,
Even cooler is that is ranges in color from green to orange. Can you imagine an orange version of this?In cellular biology, the isothiocyanate derivative of fluorescein is often used to label and track cells in fluorescence microscopy applications (for example, flow cytometry). Additional biologically active molecules (such as antibodies) may also be attached to fluorescein, allowing biologists to target the fluorophore to specific proteins or structures within cells.
...
If you can't here's my quick and dirty version. Apologize for any lack of quality. I edited it on my laptop.

Hydro-mechanical time-keeping. I did that overseas. I'd guzzle from my water supply, then go to bed, bladder would fill up, and pressure would wake me up about 4 hours later.
Si vis pacem, para bellum.
