Default How It's Made: The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Dial

The dials of AP's Royal Oak features a legendary tapisserie pattern, a pattern that most people have never seen created. We went inside AP and dial maker Stern Creations to see how these amazing dials are made using a machine invented over 400 years ago.

Here's a link to the article that actually explains how it's done: IN-DEPTH: How Are The Dials Of The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Made?*(VIDEO) - Watches Worth Knowing About - HODINKEE

I wish the video actually showed the pantograph and burin in action rather than just a lathe cutting perimeter and inner circles, which is a very common machine operation.
