    Default Steinhart watches?

    are these a good brand to buy?

    i am looking at the GMT-OCEAN 1 BLUE RED - Taucheruhren - Steinhart Watches

    I own a Proteus and used to own a Pilot from them and they are IMHO the best bang for your buck. ETA movements and overall good quality at around $400 is just incredible.

    Great watches. I have yet to hear any bad things about them, for the price

    Very solid. For the most part they have a great line and I live their pilots, but some models can be called homages.
    Since a ruler, then, must act like a beast, he should imitate both the fox and the lion.

    I ordered, or thought I ordered, a Pilot from them some time ago. They are horrible at communication and don't respond to email. The only thing I got out of the order process is put on their mailing list.
    Don't argue with idiots...they will just bring you down to their level then beat you with experience!

    That's very unfortunate and seems to happen to a few... I've always gotten a reply from Gunter (the owner) albeit sometimes it takes a few days.

    I've emailed three times with never one response. And I ordered a watch, not just looking for information.

    I never did like Steinhart. I would opt for one of these......i know the owner of the company, ask him for a scratch and dent piece and he knocks off a bit of cash. They look new, worst case it has a very minor scuff on the clasp. Excellent customer service. American company. Steinhart can eat my shorts.
