    Damn!! I knew the Keith Haring collaborations were worth good money. Didn't realize there were so many other rare variants that were valuable.

    The fuuuck?

    A very quick surface search showed that the most expensive Swatch is $325, but they avg. around $100

    At that number, the buyer got each watch for an avg. price of just over $1,500...

    WTF? I am in no way, shape, or form knowledgeable in the watch realm but to me they're low end plastic watches, and there's no way I'd pay $1,500 for one- much less 4,363 times over.

    Anyone care to explain why this was so pricey?

    Read the article. Prototypes. Early pieces. Same reason why cardboard with baseball players sell for more than they cost.
