Special Limited Edition Watch from Luminox Provides Aid to Japan
Luminox Red Cross Japan Tsunami Aid Fund Watch to be Released Fall 2011

In response to the earthquake and Tsunami of 2011, which produced one of the most horrific disasters Japan has ever faced, Luminox has created the Special Limited Edition Red Cross Japan Tsunami Aid Fund Watch, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Japanese Red Cross. In commemoration of the year 2011 Japan was shaken into a moment of darkness, Luminox is releasing only one Special Limited Edition model (1 SKU) limited to 2011 timepieces worldwide. Only one example of this watch will be offered to each authorized Luminox retailer. Thus, only one customer in any given area will have the opportunity to purchase this Special Limited Edition watch—at full retail price—and express support for the Japanese people as they struggle to recover from the recent disaster and regain normalcy.

In order to provide the highest possible amount of aid to the recovery effort, every party involved in the production, distribution and sale of these Special Limited Edition watches—the factory, the distributor, the wholesaler and the retailer—has committed to dedicate 100% of proceeds to this important cause. Luminox expects that the sales of these 2011 watches will result in a donation to the Japan Red Cross in excess of CHF 600’000 (US$ 700’000).

The 43-mm watch has a carbon-reinforced polycarbonate case housing a Swiss-made precision quartz movement. The white dial is surrounded by a red tension ring and marked with the red circle symbolizing Japan. With its rugged construction and 200-meter water resistance rating, the Special Limited Edition Red Cross Japan Tsunami Aid Fund Watch features Luminox Light Technology, a system of self-powered micro gas tubes that keeps the dial illuminated for up to 25 years, so that the time is always visible. The watch comes packaged in a special box which can be re-used for storing eyewear in it, featuring a map of Japan marked with a graphic representation of the earthquake’s epicenter on its sleeve. Special displays at each point of sale will detail how the purchase of this watch aids Japan in its time of need. The product will be available for purchase as of fall 2011.

Luminox is proud of its partners to support this effort of helping the people in desperate need in Japan in these difficult times and is certain that the 2011 watches will be sold in a short period of time so that the funds can be submitted to the Red Cross in the next months.
