Watch Chat Thread
Moderators delete if you find this thread unnecessary, but I know on some other forums that chat threads work well for acting as catch-alls for questions and comments that don't require their own individual thread. I figure we can use this thread to post interesting articles and links, ask questions, and trash Invicta from time to time.

I'll start off the thread with a question/idea. I was browsing Magrette's website the other day and saw that the majority of their models were either polished steel + engraved or PVD. I realize PVD is extremely hard, and therefore a watch couldn't be engraved after the PVD process, but would it be possible to engrave a watch and then PVD it?
Did a real quick rendering of what I was envisioning. Someone should commission it.

Taking the concept one step further, if you wanted to be real unique, you could then inlay it with gold.

Not much success with this thread starting out, but I figured I'd try one last time to ressurect it.
More so for the photography crowd, but if yout want you can view behind the scenes shots of the lighting setups and an animation of all the editing on my blog.

Odd request. Can you render the first Magrette picture like the second but without the gold inlays, and email me the picture? I want to make it my wallpaper. So it can be larger.

Blair, that's a great idea. Could you or Sal, just change the title of this thread? Instead of me having to make a new one.

Watch photography i beleive is too limited in scope and only jeff creech would contribute. Do it as Watch Chat and Watch Photography. Ya two different topics but. What do you think? I can change it to say Watch Photography but be prepared to sustain the thread pretty much by yourself is my guess.

Plus if it's Watch Chat, i can contribute dumb jokes

A very confident Marine Corps Pilot walks into a bar and takes a seat next to a very attractive woman. He gives her a quick glance then casually looks at his watch for a moment.
The woman notices this and asks, "Is your date running late?"
"No," he replies, "I just got this state-of-the-art watch, and I was just testing it."
The intrigued woman says, "A state-of-the-art watch? What's so special about it?"
The Pilot says, "It uses alpha waves to talk to me telepathically."
The lady says, "What's it telling you now?"
"Well, it says you're not wearing any panties...."
The woman giggles and replies, "Well it must be broken because I am wearing panties!"
The Fighter Pilot smirks, taps his watch and says, "Damn thing's an hour fast."
