Pawn shops
Has anyone ever bought a watch from a Pawn Shop here? I notice alot of ads on craiglist from them, such as this one
Was just curious if anyone has bought an expensive watch from a pawn shop before and their experience.

such a risk, no service capability, it could be junk and you have no after sale support. not a good idea
PM me for special L4P member deals on all diamonds and jewelry and the best deals in new and pre-owned watches from Provident Jewelry!

I have found Craigslist to be the absolute worst place as a buyer and seller. As a seller you can expect at least a half dozen emails from Nigerian scam artists (Nigerian scammers call the idiots they prey on "magas") plus a room-full of low ballers, as a buyer, well i don't buy but who in the hell would post pictures like that?

I bought a 45mm orange Omega Planet Ocean from a pawn shop in Vegas over New Year's. It works great, and the price was great, too. No box or papers, of course, but to save a couple of grand, it's worth it, IMHO.
Watches:
Lüm-Tec - M7, M23, M42, 500M-1, M23 custom, V1 Custom, Super B2, M61, (M53, M54, 300M-1XL incoming)
Non-LT: JS Watch Islandus Chrono; Seiko SPS003; R.Lighton San Remo; Tourneau Gotham Airtimer, Tourneau moonphase, Tourneau TNY 44mm Chrono, Oceanus 600, White G-Shock, Omega Orange P.O., Ebel Hexagon Regulateur
Pens: too many to count, but I'll mention my faves: McLaren MRB-850, Camelot, Divine Proportion, Visconti Homo Sapiens (cool pen, dumb name)

The crown looks too thin to me, it may just be the picture but it was the very first thing I noticed when the page opened.

I bought my Breitling Super Avenger from a pawn shop I buy some of my jewelry from back in 2008. It came with the box, papers, and even the warranty card stamped 10/ 2008 (I bought it in December). Still looks and works perfect. After I bought it I had it verified by an AD. Plus I got it for about $1500 off retail!
Might want to see if they can verify that it is authentic. Most don't mind if it means they'll make a sell.
