Orbita vs Wolf
I am looking to buy a single watch winder and I have read good things about both of these winders on the forum. I am looking to spend 200-300. Any opinions?
Also, what sites do you recommend to purchase one?
Thanks!

Can't go wrong with either. Just make sure whichever you get will be sufficient for the watch you plan on putting in it. What I mean is the size of the watch, how many turns per day it needs to keep the rotors wound, whether you need it to turn both clockwise and counter clock to keep it wound. Some models tend to make more noise than others, so If you are planning on keeping it next to your bed, make sure it is quiet.
Check both of their websites. They often have specials and close out deals.

orbits is a better quality winder than wolf, but its not as cheap, i don't think you can get one new for near $300

Both are good, I own a single Orbita winder and 6 watch wolf winder. All in all i think Orbitas quality is better.

I have had no luck with Wolf winders, everytime they replace one the next gets louder and stops working......on my 3rd one.

The watch I'm using it for is a tag aquaracer. I know its an automatic but its nice to have so you're not constantly setting the watch. I've read that putting your watch on a winder can "use up" oils and cause wear and tear on the gears. Has anyone had any problems with that?

First off, Wolf is the best "value" IMHO. The 2.7 series more than covers all bases. This sums it up quickly: Watches And Reviews - Best Watch Winder Reviews Love the locking cushions, all should be like this. Keeps heavier or smaller watches stationary.
I have a 3 winder from Wolf going on 2 years now, ZERO issues. Got it with the 50% off sale, which they seem to do about every 6 months at Wolf Designs. Orbita is a great winder no doubt, but Wolf covers my needs. Also, not noisy at all, unlike the cheap chinese one I went with first. Do not make that mistake!
