The Bulova Accutron limited edition Spaceview 214

Only 1000 will be made @ $4000 a piece.. Yay or Nay
Spaceveiw 214
Design History
In 1960, Accutron changed the way the world told time by offering the most accurate timekeeping mechanism ever created. Advertising support for the original Accutron watch, with a traditional dial, described it as “the only timepiece guaranteed accurate on your wrist.” Created with a transparent dial, the original Spaceview model was not designed as a commercial watch, but rather as a selling aid for Bulova retailers. The technology was incorporated into the actual design and let retailers and potential buyers see the unusual tuning fork technology. Requests soon poured in for the company to make the transparent design available to consumers. The combination of design and technology helped people understand the remarkable difference and technological efficiency of Accutron versus other timepieces, and created its iconic status.
The Bulova Accutron limited edition Spaceview 214 recreates the landmark tuning fork technology. Each handmade replica will be presented in a specially designed wood and glass display case. The watch has a stainless steel case with a curved sapphire crystal and an alligator strap. Each watch will be inscribed with a limited edition number matched on the official plaque on the presentation case, identifying its place in the controlled production run of 1,000 pieces.

You can buy plenty of originals for that and really think this is going to lose a lot of value rather than hold it.

I would as well and this sure is not a Seiko Spring Drive which can be had on the secondary market for a fair bit less than the original asking price.
As many a specialist had told me about these. It was an idea that was rushed to market. It was not fully developed. As such they are not the most reliable creatures. Most specialist have told me they really needed about another year of development.
You would be way better off finding one that is solid gold which really rare and can be had for quite a bit less. It's lost all the money it's going to lose and is on the way up.
If you would like I can put you in touch with one of the guys I know that can set you up with a pristine original. Often times with original box and papers.
