I was shopping around for a timepiece a few years ago, didn't want gold, wanted to keep it under 10K, something you don't see everyday, something unique, wasn't really sure what I wanted and didn't know anything about watches. I had dinner with a friend one night and he says I should give this guy a call that owned the local jewelry store. It was a certified Rolex dealer and I had been window shopping there earlier that day. To make a long story short, I was the proud owner of a brand new SS Daytona with in a few weeks. To top it off, I paid the retail price at the time which was $6,990. Not bad for my first purchase.

It's funny how watches in my collection come and go but I find myself rocking my 10 year old veteran Rolex Explorer II almost daily. Still runs perfect after all these years. Sometimes I think I should just give up, get another Rolex, maybe Daytona and call it quits with this hobby.

Have my Chanel J12 for 8 years now and it`s still in perfect condition and runs great. It`s all about how you take care of the watches.

I beat the snot out of my Explorer II. It's been scratched, dropped, kicked and slammed into walls, concrete, etc... all by accident of course but it just keeps on ticking at -/+ 2 sec a day after 10 years and it's never been serviced. Who says Rolex is not accurate? Rolex is one tough MoFo.

Oh my my, that watch is heaven on earth.

My brother has one identical to that. Ever since I saw his I have been devising a way to sell off or trade in my current Rolex for one.

I am curious as to how much they are going for currently.
