Talking about Van Gogh and Art now. 5 tableaux were stolen in a Museum in Paris yesterday. One sector of the museum had a faulty alarm system. 120M$ in value. Ok, back to topic.

Just about everything that I was going to write. If I were in the market for something in the $500 range, I would definately go with something like a Lum-Tec, Citizen, Seiko..etc. There are many brands in that price range that have original designs and are not complete and total copies (excluding Invicta).

^^what he said^^
Why is a watch not allowed to exist as a functional accessory in the same way a car exists? We need a watch as badly as we need a car or anything else that isn't food, clothing or shelter. We need a $5 watch as badly as we need a $50/500/5,000/50,000/500,000/5M watch.
There is as much mimicry as there is innovation in watch design; just like the auto industry or... much like any consumable, be it cereal, sneakers, or homes. Classic designs will always be copied and spun off of.
Does the existence of a similarly designed, lower price point item imply the higher end watch somehow is worth less or will sell worse? Or is mimicry not the highest form of flattery for watch enthusiasts? Last time I checked, being an "enthusiast" in regards to watches did not exclude appreciation of watches made for the purpose of fashion; nor does the word "enthusiast" imply a person who is precluded from appreciating a wide spectrum of objects.
I have higher end stuff and lower end stuff. No matter what watch I wear I make sure I check it often, not for the time, but to keep my eyes on my feet.
Some of you guys have your nose so far up in the air you can't see your own feet.
You disrespect the breadth of the spectrum of all that is "luxury" and all that is "play".
