Thread: Tag Heuer Carrera -- What do you guys think?? Suggestions??

So I'm graduating university at the beginning of june and my parents would like to get me a graduation gift. They're actually being quite generous for this gift since my graduation means my dad's retirement pretty much haha. Anyway I have been semi looking for watches and I like the looks of the Tag Heuer Carrera. What do you guys think?? Good watch? Worth the price?? I don't know too much about watches personally but I would like to have a nice watch to wear to work that is both classy but sporty. I will be wearing business casual at work and would prefer not to have something too dressy (as you can see I have very little idea what I'm talking about haha). I prefer a leather strap. Any other suggestions that are similar to this in design/ price or that meet my requirements would be greatly appreciated!

Tag Carrera is a very nice piece. Good looking...sporty. It's a 42mm I believe. Not sure what size you are looking for. I'm sure we could recommend others as well if you give us a price range.

That's a great watch. In that price range and style you may also want to look at Omega.

I've always favoured Omega over Tag - better quality, better style (in my opinion), and more story behind the name. Just my 2 cents.

TAGs are great... I have 3 .

My personal favorite is the Grand Carrera Chrono hands down... just absolutely stunning in person.

You can get it on a strap...

I recommend Omega over Tag Heuer as well. Do you like Omega Speedmaster? Rolex Submariner non-date is another good timeless piece.

I have tried the carerra on and the size of it (i believe it is 42mm) is perfect for my wrist. Anything bigger just looks kind of ridiculous on me. So 42mm is the max size I'm looking for. As for price range I'll go with around $3000 is tops. A bit more may be ok and I'm sure my parents wouldn't mind less either haha. Like I said earlier I'm looking for something sporty yet classy at the same time preferably with a leather strap.

I tried that grand carrera on as well and loved it but the price is a bit steep for now. Looks amazing though!!

I have tried on the hamilton x-wind as well and I found the dial too busy. The carrera has a similar dial but seems to be less "busy".

The Omega speedmaster isn't bad either. Is it within my price range??
