Default Which watch will retain its value better??

I'm getting a new piece. A black dial SS Rolex Daytona OR a PAM 111K. Obviously the Rolex has a higher initial cost and will command a higher used sales price. BUT...which will hold its value better?? I would think the rollie. Thoughts?? I'm REALLY after a PAM 233 but I'm working on a trade with a dealer for a bunch of really high quality Nikon glass for credit towards a watch...so my options are somewhat limited to what he has on-hand. Thoughts/comments/opinions??

Incorrect. All of my past Pam's have appreciated substantially. Then again Appreciate/Depreciate all depends on how much you paid.

The SS Rolex Daytona is the holy grail of Rolex because they are so hard to find. They are not only almost impossible to find but the only way a lot of people can get into a Daytona line, since the price jumps considerably after the SS.

Rijowysock, I didn't know a SS could be had that low. The few I have ever found were msrp and many were way above!

i paid msrp and BARELY sold mine for 9500 shipped overseas.. i had to BEG to get it gone and it was BNIB, full stickers, unnamed and undated papers.... took me 2 months to dump.

Hey brother, are you the one with the 42mm PO with the orange bezel? If so, In my opinion, you have no business wearing anything less than a 44mm watch. Post a picture of that PO on your wrist so all can understand and help guide you. I'm guessing, based on pictures, youre wrist is about 9" in diameter.

Simply put man, you bought the wrong ones (Pams).....

On a sidenote, you know as well as I that everything in the watch market has taken a haircut as of late. Bad time to sell, great time to buy

1-In 04, purchased a 104 used for $3450 and sold it last week for $3550 and thats after I wore it for 4 years.

2-in 04 I purchased a pam93 for $2850, yes $2850, if and when I sell that I will close to double my money. even in this crap economy.
    -
3- A new Pam250, paid $6200 early last year and sold for $6900 3-4 months later.
    -
I don't sell to profit, I sell to buy another timepiece but why lose money if I don't have to.
