Default recommend a watch around $2K?!?

a buddy of mine is getting hitched next month, and he is getting a watch as a present, the catch is he has to pick one and it needs to be around $2K

the thing is my buddy is not familiar with watches, and whatever i recommend he either does not like, out of the price range or is too big
i think he can wear anything around 40-42mm cases, and since he already has "round" watches maybe he can get a square, rectangular or barrel shaped watch this time

whatever you guys/gals recommend i will def pass along thru him and of course i will post pics of whatever he ends up with

    thanks again L4P!!!

Used Omega Speedmaster, might even be able to find a small case Planet Ocean in that price range. Perhaps a used Cartier Tank or Roadster (small case). Tons of Tags, Movados, B&Ms in that price range as well.

Best recommendation: Omega Seamaster James Bond (~1400)
Omega Seamaster 300-meter James Bond Men's Watch from Overstock.com

Here is a link to a ton of decent watches in the 1-2k price range. I'd go for the Omega. I love Omega's classic design and overall quality though. My Planet Ocean is still my favorite watch.

    Luxury Men's Watches, $1,000-$2,000 from Overstock.com

I don't know if he wants to buy new, but I have a Tag Heuer Monaco Chronograph w/ a black face and a black leather strap w/ a deployant clasp. I will let it go for a good price. Just let me know if you want more details and/or pics.

I would second the Omega sea master. I have a fair amount of watches and the seamaster still goes with me a lot of the time, eveyone should own at least one.

Omega for sure. Great name and great watch at a reasonable price.

I love my Omega Seamaster GMT; It actually kept better time than my Sea-Dweller (over 3 months of sitting in a winder, the Sea-Dweller was about 3 minutes off compared to 1 minute for the Seamaster).

I don't know current prices these days; but a used one should fit in that price range.
