Default IWC Portuguese Automatic “Dragon Year” Edition

It is the Chinese Year of the Dragon and not surprisingly every major luxury watch brand is trying to get in on the action. All it takes is a dragon or two somewhere — anywhere — on the watch and the watch is ready for limited edition status. Here’s IWC Schaffhausen’s entry into the “Year of the Dragon” category: the IWC Portuguese Automatic Edition Dragon Year with, yes, a dragon engraving on the rotor. Subtle, yes? Special? Mmmmm. An elegant looking watch, yes of course the Portuguese is, but this is barely anything more than just that. Then there is the matter of IWC’s pride in it’s limited editions these days: they are no longer individually numbered. These pieces? “One Out of 888″. If you want something more differentiated, my recommended alternative would be the the Blancpain Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar Watch.

"The price is still unconfirmed but with a relatively speaking high number in the limited edition as limited editions go in general it will likely not be too outrageous."

So simple looking, yet so elegant. I love it!
