    Default Rolex Sky-Dweller 2012?

Rolex aficionados seem to have happened upon what might be one of the biggest watch launches of 2012 — though I am not convinced in my own mind that this is the year for…the Rolex Sky-Dweller. While we will get nary a word from Rolex until Baselworld 2012 (starts March 8), publicly available trademark and domain name registration records make a convincing point the Rolex is working on, or at least contemplating, the Sky-Dweller collection. Yes, March 8, 2012 will be one year to the day since Rolex Watch USA filed the trademark “SKY-DWELLER”. This filing came less than a week after the same SKY-DWELLER mark was filed in Canada. Presumably, foreign trademark equivalents are also secured or pending. Further, a “whois” records search for the domain name Sky-Dweller.com indeed reveals the URL is registered since March 28, 2011 to ROLEX SA, Geneva.

So my guess is, watch fans, that a Rolex Sky-Dweller is a possibility at some point in the future, but what is to say this year? My gut and experience tells me that a major launch such as can often be years in the making and the registration of trademarks and other IP could be the first of many steps in the process. Thus the filing of trademarks, etc. last year ismight be on I am not convinced it will happen in 2012.

Baselworld 2012: After rampant speculation over the release of a new Rolex Sky-Dweller watch, Rolex has teased with a screenshot of a new watch on its website. Is this the new Rolex Sky-Dweller? Less than 48 hours we will know…

    Rolex 2012 Sky-Dweller ?

Looks like the dial of the GMT II but in white ceramic. I'm hopeing for a 41mm GMT with Daytona subdials that would be next on my list of Rolexes.

If you log onto Rolex's website, New Models, you will see that screenshot.

Edit: If i'm understanding the website correctly looks like we will know on March 7
