    Default 69 Mustang Restoration thread

I purchased a 69 Mustang and had it shipped halfway across the US. Thank you JP logistics for moving a non running car with no brakes! They did a great job. I wanted to find a rust free car if possible.

My goal is to have it done by fall...

Ill update this thread with pictures a few times a week.

The car is going to be a 390FE 4 speed...

    Major Updates:
    Car running - Thanksgiving 2012
Car Moving around under own power (Brakes/Steering/Charging systems functional) - TBD (Winter 2012/3)
Car Painted - TBD (Spring 2013)
Interior Installed - TBD (Spring 2013)

Quick Idle shot - Don't mind the other cars in the background. One is jumping mine, while my father is working on my brother's girlfriends car.

    Breaking in at 2200 RPM

I've heard of them. I am using mostly OEM parts for my build. My father had planned to build one of these one day and purchased all new OEM parts in the seventies and eightys.

I recently opened them from their boxes after being stored for 30 years.

    Bondo work

    Primer

Metal primer for engine bay (sprayed on for finish)

Started painting the engine bay the correct semi gloss black last night.

    Goals for this week are:
Other quarter in bond and primer
    paint interior flat black
finish rustproofing in trunk and paint flat black
finish engine bay semi gloss black
Install throttle, brake, and clutch pedals and lower dash
Figure out what I need for brake components

    More to come soon...
