Two best party recommendations, Liv @ Fontainebleau and Club 50 @ Viceroy Brickell. Enough said, go there if you mean business. It won't be cheap though.
Restaurants, depends on what you want to grab. Legit Cuban food? Skip anything on the beaches or any tourist area. Your best bet is actually having a local Cuban invite you to dinner in there home.
Steak:
STK Gansevoorte
Smith & Wollensky
Texas De Brazil
Grazianos
Italian:
Perricones
Yes, thats it for Italian. Why? This place is hands down the only Italian place I'd ever take anyone to personally. The location is excellent, in the heart of Brickell. The ambiance of the place is superb, great bar/deli, amazing indoor seating, and a beautiful air conditioned outdoor garden patio. I must say I'll visit this place 4-5 times a month, and have been doing so for the past year. The service is beyond superior, and it's one of the main reasons I come back. Now the main reason for coming in the first place, is the delicious authentic food. I can't put it in words, but basically you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I've had just about everything, but it's the baked brie and fiocchi gorgonzola that I can't get enough of. Prices are very fair, and dare I say cheap? I know this is sounding like an ad for the place, but trust me visit Perricones and tell me I wasn't right.
Misc.
Chi.che 105:
Joes Stone Crab (Not to be confused with 'Joes Crab Shack')
Dolores (Restaurant/Lounge)
Casablanca Seafood
Shopping:
Aventura Mall
Village at Merrick Park
As for Hotels/Resorts, I'm local so I can't really speak much for that. If you have any other questions, please let me know. I'd be more than happy to point you in the right direction.
Cheers!
