Default Which Hawaiian island for honeymoon?

Looks like my honeymoon at the beginning of November will be at a Hawaiian island.

Without my fiancee or me ever setting foot there we are at a loss.

So the question is what do y'all recommend?

    What we definitely want:
    • Moderately secluded beaches
    • Nice resort with relaxing spa
    • Some history thrown in

Anywhere but Lahina on Maui or Waikiki on Oahu.

Waliea in Maui, the Kohala Coast in Oahu, anywhere in Kuai, Four Seasons Lanai, anywhere North of Kona on the Big Island.

    Mahalo.

Maui, Maui, Maui! dont stay in lahaina (too commercial) go more upperscale go a little further up north to Kapalua Plantation and stay at the resort there. Great place to golf but also more secluded and personal. Also have Road to Hana and the day we went we only saw maybe 10 cars the whole ride, beaches along the way over by Kapalua are great. North Shore is fun too and maybe lahaina for a day for the history. Kaui is nice too but I dont think you can go too wrong anywhere on the islands haha

Maui - Wailea. It was beautiful and semi secluded but close to everything you want or need.

We also spent a week on the big island near Waialea or Mauna Kea and it wasn't for us. Maybe it was the resort we stayed at, but it wasn't nearly as peaceful as Maui and it was way too far to go do stuff if you wanted to.

Look into the Fairmont Orchid on the big island. Great spa, beautiful grounds, good restaurant, tons of turtles and sea life to swim with and a nice lagoon/beach to hangout at.

Are these replies based off of knowledge of all islands in the chain or only off of where you guys have stayed? I have stayed at the Four Seasons in Hualalai (Kona Big Island), I will be attending a wedding next month at the Fairmont Orchid (Big Island), I have lived on the North Shore (Oahu) and stayed in various places on Maui (Wailea, Kapalua). They are all very nice places.

But if you want a romantic getaway, full of scenery, outdoor activity (I assume you want this since you chose Hawaii) and seclusion, you cannot beat Kauai. All other places will make you feel like you are in a vacation resort. There are certain establishments in Kauai (St Regis Princeville) that can/will make you feel like you are on a very secluded island with the convenience of all the amenities.

Thanks for all the time to reply guys.

My fiancee and I want to split the time up to two islands; we seem to be favoring Maui right now and are kinda open to suggestions.
